                               (2000)                                                   (1985)
Wondering.......
I wake up in the middle of the night
Wondering .......
Wondering if I caused their fight
I hear the yelling that gave me a fright
Yet again….I hear her say “GET THE HELL OUT”
This time it’s different
He listens….. silence takes over
Foot steps down the hall
He goes in each room and wakes us all
He gives me a kiss on the forehead and says “I love you forever and always”
I say “daddy why you leaving”
He chokes up and says “I’ll see you next season”
Wondering if he’ll come back cause now I see in the door way he has a trash bag packed
Wondering as a little girl when will he reappear because all I see right now is his back getting inside the driver’s seat
I haven’t seen him in many years
I say all this to say be grateful for whom you have because you never know when that person will always be in your past.....
-E' Von Lewis
